About me

Who am I? My name is Gerard Peeters, living in the Apeldoorn area; I have a background in technical sciences and in business administration (Ir and MSc) which enables me to connect the (sometimes) gap between technology, commerce and the general company's and customer's interest. I have some 36 years experience in a variety of roles such as Project Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager and team leader. My work has mostly been related to complex and challenging international ICT related projects all around the world. Some key words to describe me are: pragmatic, socially involved, sensitive to cultural differences and with a good sense of humour. My talents are best used in being part of a team of professionals; maintaining overview, planning, organising, communicating and creating a good working environment.

The name Trevadi has been derived from the below mottos in which I recognise myself:

  • Working with professionals on a common goal: team work! That is what it's all about. Of course to achieve results as a team but also to progress the team dynamics and the individual team members' skills and ambitions.
Varietas delectat - change is pleasant
  • Who says that change is scary? Each assignment, each project is unique with its own dynamics in terms of team, stakeholders, goal and result.
Dictum factum - what is said is done
  • Do as you say, say what you do. Open and clear communication, both internally towards your team and management and externally towards your customer and other stakeholders.

Professional experience

I started my career as a Research engineer at Océ Nederland B.V. and later at TNO-FEL. In these jobs I worked with highly skilled and passionate professionals in various technical areas. Building something beautiful together, that is what I'm passionate about! By my many travels and working in and with different cultures (also between different departments of a company), my area of interest gradually has shifted from technology to commerce and mostly to people; Bring out the best of people and their way of working together to achieve your goals.

Since the end of 2023 I started as a Freelancer, after being employed for 36 years.

Account Manager and team leader of the Customer Team International

2020 - 2023

Saab Technologies B.V.

  • Developing the Customer Team International, both on an individual level via coaching and on a team level.
  • Representing the Customer Team towards management and other departments such as Sales and Product Development. Contributing activily in sales offers for new international customers.
  • Preparing quotations for the customers within my own account.
  • Plan and organise the team's work in progress, based on constraints and priorities.
  • Maintaining regular contacts with customers, suppliers and partners.
  • Contributed to organisational improvements such as setting up a Project Management Office (PMO) to support Project Managers
  • Acted as Liason between Saab Technologies and one of Saab's subsidiaries in Denmark.

Project Manager

2012 - 2020

Saab Technologies B.V.

  • Project Manager of multiple international projects in various countries such as China, Hong Kong, India, Gabon, Dubai, Fujairah, UK, Lithuania, Estland and Italy.
  • In that role, maintain relationships with customers and local partners and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
  • During and inbetween managing projects I had several temporary roles such as Quality Manager and Auditor (of projects). Advised on improving the organisational structure and processes.

Project leader en Team leader of the Projects department

1997 - 2012

HITT, Holland Institute of Traffic Technology B.V.

  • Project leader of various Vessel Traffic Control and Aviation Traffic Control systems in the Netherlands, Belgium and other European countries. The projects were multi disiplinairy and complex because of the technical challenges and the often culturally different stakeholders.
  • Team leader of the Projects department and deputy head of the Operations department. In these roles P/L responsible for the running projects in the department.

Research engineer

1993 - 1996

Instituut voor Toegepast Natuurwetenschappelijk Onderzoek, Fysisch en Electronisch Laboratorium (TNO-FEL)

  • Conduct technical research for the Dutch military forces. The research resulted in reports, presentations and / or a demonstration model. Most research was related to cryptography and (crypto) key management.
  • Support in the commercial process.

  • During about a year, I travelled over land from the Netherlands to Asia.

Océ Nederland B.V., Research and Development (R&D)

  • Reasearch in technical solutions for Océ's first digital copy machine.
  • Involved in the scanner part, developing image enhancing techniques and data compression.

What can I do for you?


Many of my customers were national governments or government related. The contract value of the projects varied between 250 kEuro and 15 MEuro. Mostly the projects were turnkey deliveries and were subject to strict requirements on project execution and project management. The contracts usually were gained through a formal open tender process.


Below are some categories of assignments that would fit my capabilities and expertise.


Interim management

Interim management as department manager, team leader or portfolio (program) manager of related projects. Obtaining good results together.

Project Management

Execute a project, together with the customer, team, partners and suppliers, respecting the requirements on time, budget and quality.

Contractmanagement

Monitoring and adhering to agreements as described in the contract, both for the own organisation and the customer and suppliers. Doing this by maintaining a good relationship as a foundation for a long term cooperation.

Process design and process monitoring

Define, advise and implement an efficient project organisation, including processes, standards and methods. Setting up and improving a Project Management Office (PMO) can be a part of this process. Similarly the setup and regular execution of audits and quality checks can help to unify and improve projects.

Account management

Enter and maintain long term relationships with various stakeholders. Prepare quotations and support during the poject execution.

Coaching project leaders

Coaching of less experienced project leaders and project teams so they can better grow into their role.
